Rigid Board

Support - Protective Coatings Industry

The ultimate problem solver to a variety of fireproofing design challenges including space constraints, freezing weather conditions, and construction roof traffic.

The application of ISOLATEK® Type CB requires basic carpentry hand tools. The board is installed in a box configuration by using friction fit patented CAFCLIPS™ or weld pins on beams and columns. It is fastened to the underside of metal decking by use of weld pins or self tapping screws.

Classic or Pinto Stud Welding System

Due to its versatility, in-place performance and means of installation, ISOLATEK® Type CB can be installed at any stage of the construction process regardless of temperature and substrate conditions. Installation can occur over all painted, primed or encapsulated surfaces as well as substrates where rust, oil or loose mill scale conditions exist.

The information contained herein is not intended to replace a thorough understanding of Isolatek application guidelines. For further information on all application methods contact Isolatek International or one of our business partners.

As a result of its mechanical attachment to all substrates, ISOLATEK® Type CB is generally considered maintenance free. It is resistant to the effects of temperature, moisture, and humidity, as well as deflection and impact forces associated with general construction. The secure mechanical attachment system of Type CB delivers unwavering assurance that the product will not require maintenance that is possible with traditional spray applied fireproofing materials.
