WTC Transit Hall & Oculus
Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and slated for completion in 2015, the WTC Transit Hub will serve over 200,000 commuters daily and millions of global visitors annually. Isolatek International’s intumescent fireproofing ISOLATEK® Type WB 5 was chosen to protect the Oculus, an engineering achievement consisting of a variety of very ornate and complex built up structural members.
The Gran Torre Costanera
With a height of 300m (984 ft.) The Gran Torre Costanera in Chile is Latin America’s tallest building and one of Santiago’s most prized structures. Isolatek International’s Isolatek® Type 400 was selected by Pelli, Clarke, Pelli Architects as the only passive fireproofing protection to satisfy the demands of this project.
Wilshire Grand Center, Los Angeles, CA, USA
Slated for completion in 2017, the 73 story Wilshire Grand Center will be the tallest building in the Western United States. Isolatek International has been there every step of the way as the single-source provider of Spray-Applied Fireproofing (Isolatek® Type 400 AC/ES, Isolatek® Type M-II) and the Intumescent Fireproofing (Isolatek® Type WB 5).
Apple Campus 2, Cupertino, CA, USA
When designing the impressive Apple Campus 2 located in Cupertino, California, Norman Foster selected Isolatek International’s fireproofing materials to meet the current building code, fire ratings, and for their distinctive physical properties and capabilities. While Isolatek® Type 300 was chosen to protect the skylight/breezeways and entranceways, the roof deck assembly required materials that could “flex” as the roof modules are craned into place. Isolatek® Type® HP was chosen for the underside roof beams and Isolatek® Type CB for the underside of the roof deck.

The Amsterdam Tower developed by Lingotto, Sander Groet, ID & T, and Massive Music selected ISOLATEK® Type 300 to protect the uniquely designed crown which houses a new revolving restaurant and nightclub.
US Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN, USA
Home to the Minnesota Vikings this massive stadium has been selected to host Super Bowl LII in February 2018. As “investigated for exterior use” Isolatek® Type II and Isolatek® Type HP was the material of choice due to its reputation for in place performance and ability to weather the elements during the construction cycle.
Amazon Block 19 & 14, Seattle, WA, USA
NBBJ, designers of many modern structures for high tech companies, chose Isolatek International’s passive fireproofing for Amazon’s two newest towers. Isolatek International’s newest material Isolatek® Type 3000 (in addition to Isolatek® Type 400/400AC) meets the current IBC bond strength code requirements for High-Rise Buildings. In addition to meeting code requirements and fire ratings, Isolatek® Type HP was chosen due to its acoustical properties and internal charcoal color.
